| Friday,September 13, 2013 was the best day. Greg had been planning a surprise vacation to Maine for months and they were leaving the next day. When Lisa came home from work Greg said he wanted to have dinner at one of their favorite Thai resturants in Morristown. Lisa remembered thinking that it was kind of a far drive for them to go the night before their vacation. Not to mention we weren't even packed! But who can say no to declicious Thai food? They were on our way up to Morristown when Greg said they had some time to kill before their reservation. He decided that they should take a drive to an arboretum that they enjoyed going to. He seemed a little nervous but anxious to go to the arboretum quickly because it closed at dusk and it was getting late. They were walking around when he stopped her in a gazebo in a rose garden. All of a sudden he is telling Lisa how much he loves her and is getting down on one knee. Lisa was in total shock! She couldn't believe it! She remembered saying, "Oh my god", over and over and he said, "Can you answer the question?' Of course she said YES!! Greg planned everything so perfectly. After they walked around for bit, Greg suggested that they grab a drink at the pub where they met. It was just such a perfect touch to the evening. Greg and Lisa have a lot of history in Morristown so it was moving how much thought he put into the engagement. Greg's Side: We met at a pub in Madison, NJ. I was home from Penn State visiting some friends for the weekend. We decided to go to this pub called The Grasshopper. Lisa was out celebrating a friend's birthday. We both started talking and had a nice time. We ended up going out for coffee a few days later. After that we would visit each other at school and the rest is history!
Lisa's Side: We met at a pub called The Grasshopper close to where I was going to school. I was out celebrating a friend's birthday and Greg was out with his friends. I remember our groups somehow started engaging in conversation and before I knew it Greg and I were talking the rest of the night. We ended up going on our first date later that weekend. I didn't realize it at the time, but this day was the beginning of the rest of my life. |
